i have, what i feel is a really good mongol stratergy on regicide 1v1, however to do it with ally all extra you do to this stratergy is add about 20 trade carts, and when the miners are usless killthem and replace them with another 20 trade carts.
TAKE NOTE: i am of the opinion that infantry are utterly useless. as the mongols i see NO reason to build infantry except for early defense when there is no other choice.
you start with 10 villies, but 4 on food gathering berrys, 4 on wood and 2 mining gold. use your scout 2 gather as many sheep as possible and put them next to your castle to protect from your enemys scout, who will undoubtedly try and kill your sheep. build as 10 more villies, another 4 on food, 4 on wood, 2 more on gold, build annother villie to start making houses, and then a barracks.
the berrys will start to run out around now and when they do put the food villies on the sheep you have been gathering up. send your scout to any choke points to warn you of any rush attempts by your opponent.
now keep building villies in groups of 4 until you have 20 on food, and 20 on wood. build about 10-15 millitia to defend. then advance to the feudal.
reserch loom and the other techs at the town centre before training villies to form a mining pack of about 20 villies and get them working on the gold.
sheep will have run out so select the food workers in groups of four, (i find this an efficent way of farming, im sure many will disagree...) set them to building a mill (B-I) then set four farms around it tessalated to they all fit in smoothly (this is hard to explain but when you figure it out, you'll know) and set them back on the mill, when theyre done they go and build the farms and get working, do this with all the other food villies, but scatter the farm mills around your base so theres not one big easy target for your opponents light cavalry to target and slaughter your villies...
get your builder producing buildings, and continue uprgrading units until you find yourself in the imperial age. immediatley build a bunch of 40 mangudai and send the whatever is left of your infantry to attack their base.
then build 40 caveliers
around 20 seige onagers
12 trebs, 8 monks, and another 40 mangudai, then upgrade all your techs to the maximum level, whilst this is happening, take an aggrssive defence, take a up a position that is easy to defend, and a potenential threat to your opponents base, but close enough to rush back and defend yours. set the mangudai on defensive, onagers on stand ground so they dont fire upon themselves, and the monks, trebs and cavaliers at the back.
when the techs are done send the caveliers on a raid into the heart of your enemys economy (farms in paticular) and send the 2nd groups on mangudai on either a trade route or a mining spot, hit slaughter villies, then run if there is any resistance, minimise casulaties of the mangudai, send them to the monks to be healed and replace any dead in thier group, the caveliers are a sucide mission, attack until theyre all dead.
then build a group of 40 hussars and send them to harrass the enmeys economy and aviod the enemys army after theyve lost about half their number send them in on a final attack, gather as much information about the enemys force as possible, if theyre using melee cavalry replace the hussars with camels, anything else replace with cavaliers.
now ready yourself for a 1 massive swift attack.
use the 2nd division of mangudai to try and pull any enemys left on aggressive, then turn and kill them, whilst this happens from another direction assemble your 1st division mangudai, onagers, trebs, monks.
and from a position, prefably from the side of the direction you will attack from, put the caveleirs or camels.
use the 2nd division to "give away" the position of your major force.
gates are easy to break through with mangudai alone, in about 20seconds a group of 40 manguadai should have broken them down
if they use infantry it will be a slaughter, dont worry about a thing.
if theyre the britons with the dreaded longbows, draw away any defensive infantry of cavalry away from the longbows with the 1st divison mangudai, and when they come into range of the onagers turn and attack. directly control the onagers for this, make sure they dont fire on your own men, go the bulk of their men. as soon as the defensive units are away from the longbows hit them with 2nd division mangudai and the cavaleirs, if they have seige, keep the mangudai out of range for as long as possible and hit the seige tieh the cavalirs and begin the slaughter of the longbows.
set up the trebs so they have range deep into the enemys base and put the monks around them, this will become a sort of healing post. use the trebs to destroy as many buildings that are a threat as possible, castles, towers, archery range, etc dont worry about blacksmiths, temples, or houses, theyre just a distraction.
remember this being regicide all you have to do is kill the king. heal mangudais and caveliers. spam as many mangudai as you can, the enemy will be quickly trying to assemble a counter attack, it will probably be of cheap fast producing units, move in the onagers and cause as many casualties as possible, cover the onagers if you want to with a manguadai squad. bring the trebs in and isolate whereever the king is hiding, have a mangudai sqauad next to the target building to stop him doing a runner
and finish, destroy building, and kill the king its all over. throughout that whole battle youve gotta be moving hard and fast, keep the manguadi moving, disrupt their formations, if your opponent has left any on aggressive, drag them out of formation split them um and move the caveliers in and get in amongst their ranks and move the mangudai back in for fire support. onagers are very very powerfull against massed groups, but they hurt theyre own guys as well, so you have to keep close control to stop them killing your army.
now against a cavalry civilisation like the sarecens or the huns, you need to make use of the onagers, paticlary against massed paladins of massed mamalukes, for your oppenent seeing his units being hit down en-masse by onagers is devastating, make use of it. also as you build up through the ages, use hussars and attack his enonomuy, use mangudai to support them, but keep the mangudai out of combat, save your resorces, however hussars are fine to be sacraficed.
attack resorces centres away from your enemeys base and force him to waste resorces building up defences defending his villagers, building castles to defend gold mines, trade route etc. but make sure he doent build extensive fortifications around choke points, if he tries, hit him early and if he brings in millitary units to protect construction ambush his units with onagers, and then run in with mangudai and/or caveliers. |
