Civilisation Details
Vikings
Just a few details
Vikings need to gather 20wood before they can afford to make their 1st fish boat (they have to wait till the tc is up to get 1) so they don't need to drop a dock as fast as other civs, they can spare sometime to find a good dock placement
Since they usually galley rush it is important to find food to get to feudal fast and gold. It is also important to locate enemy and ally docks to grush most efficiently so sparing a fish boat to scout or similar is a good idea.
Walling their economies totally (preferably in Stone) before enemy reaches Castle is a good idea since they will be weak against land attacks. If they are attacked by mayan archers it will be their allies task to help them.
Persians
Persians start is very similar to the vikings, the difference is they can make a fish boat before building the TC (Persians start with +50 wood) so they have to make a dock and a house as soon as possible in order to make a fishing boat ASAP, even before their TC is up.
Mayans
Mayans are nearly the same as vikings, their priority is to build their TC faster and they need food fast too (their initial food is 150 compared to 200 for Vik and 250 for Persian) although they start with +1 vil
Mayans usually either go Xbow or help Vikings with the Grush.
Since their start is pretty much the same I didn't include a record.
Chinese
Chinese have the most complex start of all the civs. Poisn told me he thinks china is the strongest civ if they have the right start.
They start with no food so they usually need to gather even before they build the TC. It is very good to mill either shore fish or deers with 2 or 3 villagers right from the beginning (starting positions is usually a good way to decide). They can also start the same way as in Land Nomad if we are lucky enough to have close villagers and good food (quite rare though).
Chinese generally have more villagers and less fish boats than other civ, which I particularly fancy a lot since villagers are way more versatile.
With Nomad out of the way you are now ready to move onto Step 5, everyone's favourite

Making a second dock would take up resources for 2 boats... Not worth a lot considering that you'll need to make farms as soon as you finish up all the berries and sheep. Not to mention building a barracks, so you can directly build a stable in the feudal age.

When I first started playing I didn't use docks, but now after I have played this game for a while, I enjoy Cavalry Archers

I find that a very similar thing works for me. I do 4 to shore fish (i put tc near shore fish and woods), then go 16 to woods, then some to stone and gold. Very early in dark age, I can do 2 docks with nonstop boats.
